Intro to Watercolor: Trees
- Description
Charles Burchfield found wonder in the woods, fields, and backyards around Western New York, and he painted trees that seem to hum, sway, and glow. In this hands-on workshop, young artists will take inspiration from his work and paint their own expressive trees in watercolor.
We’ll start by looking closely at Burchfield’s paintings and talking about the shapes, patterns, and feelings he found in nature. Then we’ll try out the resist technique using painters' tape. No painting experience is needed.
Kids will leave with a finished watercolor painting and a new technique to try at home.
All materials are provided.
