Join traditional Tuscarora beadwork artist Tina Mt. Pleasant (Tuscarora Nation, Turtle Clan) for a hands-on workshop presented in collaboration with the Birchfield Penney Art Center. Participants will learn the fundamentals of traditional Haudenosaunee beadwork while creating a beaded bracelet featuring symbolic, traditional Haudenosaunee designs.
Participants will choose from one of three bracelet templates, making the project accessible to a range of skill levels while offering opportunities for personal creativity. Through step-by-step instruction, attendees will learn foundational beadwork techniques and gain a deeper appreciation for the artistry, history, and cultural significance of Haudenosaunee beadwork traditions.
Tina Mt. Pleasant is a Haudenosaunee artist from the Tuscarora Nation (Turtle Clan) who began beading at the age of five.
