Artist/Instructor: Lydia Boddie-Rice
Saturday, October 18
11:00 AM–2:00 PM
Fee: Members $50, Not-yet members $65
Unlock your creativity in this immersive mixed-media collage workshop led by exhibiting artist Lydia Boddie-Rice, whose work is currently featured in the Common Currents exhibition.
In this hands-on session, participants will explore the art of storytelling through the fusion of paper and fabric. Learn collage techniques, experiment with a variety of materials, and discover how composition, layering, texture, and narrative have a visual impact. Guided by Lydia’s expertise, participants create two original collages, one using paper scraps and the other using fabric remnants. This side-by-side approach reveals how different mediums influence artistic expression, offering fresh insights into your personal artistic process.
Supply list for collage:
- Personal photographs, magazine clippings, old book pages, or printed images
- Assorted paper scraps: colored, textured, or patterned paper
- Fabric remnants (cotton, linen, felt, lace, denim, etc.—small pieces are fine)
